I have recently purchased an Intel _base_d iMac computer and I found that along with all the usual major transition headaches, i.e the need to gather and buy new software, I also have had to track down replacements for all my Quicktime video codec because even though the ones I have still work they're not Universal and I hate wasting new computer performance.
So I will be using this thread to provide information about Universal Quicktime Codec's that I find.

One of my favorite new Universal Quiktime video codec's is Perian which is, according to the developer, "the swiss army knife of codec's". This well deserved _title_ basically explains what Perian is about which is to basically support as many different video formats as possible. This is defiantly a codec everyone should get.
The codec supports the following video and audio formates:
AVI, FLV, 3ivX, DivX, Flash Screen Video, MS-MPEG4, Sorenson H.263, Truemotion VP6, Xvid and AVI support for: AAC, AC3 Audio using A52Codec, H.264, MPEG4, and VBR MP3
